Another perfect gift for Mother’s Day to show mom that she is loved. Barbamel Books, Inc. is a mom-made company based in Ontario, Canada. Barb, the owner, started her own company when she couldn’t find a Canadian Publisher that would publish her books.
How did she come up with the idea for her books? Her husband travelled a lot for work. She was worried that her 2-year old wouldn’t know who her father was and why he loved her so she created a book with all the photos of her husband and daughter together. When her husband was home, they would read the book together and talk about the photos.
I received the I Love Mommy Because… photo board book to review. What I first realized when I got it was that I don’t have enough pictures with my daughter to put in the book. I was always the one behind the camera, I have to change that.
What I liked about the book? It’s very durable. My girl is going through her biting and throwing phase right now and the book is managing to survive through that. It is so easy to insert your 4×6 photos in the book. I also liked how, with a simple change of pictures, you can change the story. There’s not a lot of text in the book, I made up the story based on the picture that is in the book. I’m sure we will be reading this book as baby grows older.
